About

Jim Ferguson has served the Lord full-time since 1975.  After receiving his M Div from Columbia Biblical Seminary in Columbia, SC in 1985, Jim was ordained in the Presbyterian Church. Since then, he has faithfully pastored congregations in Florence, SC and Green Bay, WI.  He has also chaired both the presbytery's Leaves of Absence and Sessional Records Committee and Diaconal Committee.  Together with his wife Laurel, three grown children, and seven grandchildren, Jim continues to leave a legacy of service. He is the middle of three generations of Presbyterian ministers: His father retired as a PCA minister and his son, Kyle, is currently a PCA minister in VA.

Jim retired from full-time ministry at the end of 2022.  Today he spends much of his time caring for his wife who has progressed dementia as well as pursuing his love of reading espionage novels, solving puzzles, and watching sports TV.  While Jim has retired from full-time ministry, his experience is a blessing to those he works with today. Jim understands the weight of shepherding and has navigated through many of the wonderful and hard moments that pastors today face. He sees this opportunity to be a part of Barnabas XP as a continuation of a life of service and a way to bless those who are currently pastoring.
